Quick answer
Go to Settings and open Notifications. There you choose how ASHR reaches you — in the app, by email, in Slack, by push, or any combination — and which events notify you, like leave approved, an approval needed, a review due, announcements or helpdesk updates. Tick each event per channel and save.
Which channels can I use?
ASHR can reach you four ways:
- In-app — the bell in the header and your notifications list.
- Email — messages land in your inbox.
- Slack — a direct message from the ASHR Slack app.
- Push — a notification on any device where you turned push on.
Use any combination. Slack only works if the ASHR Slack app is connected to your account, and push only reaches devices where you switched it on (on iPhone, install ASHR to your home screen first).
Every column is live: unticking one really does stop that kind of message reaching you on that channel.
Which events can I control?
Events are grouped into kinds, each with its own row:
- Approval needed — something is waiting for you to approve.
- Decisions on your requests — leave approved or rejected, an expense decided.
- Announcements — company-wide news, comments and acknowledgement reminders.
- Helpdesk & concerns — replies and updates on tickets and confidential cases.
- Reviews, goals & growth — appraisal tasks, objectives, growth plans.
- Payslips & payouts — your payslip is ready, a payout was paid.
- Assets, shifts & documents — handovers, rosters, onboarding steps, letters.
- Hiring & interviews, Surveys & feedback, Kudos & recognition.
- Everything else — anything that does not fall into the groups above.
- Account & security — always on, see below.
Each row has one tick box per channel, so you can be very specific.

Can I turn everything off?
Not quite. Account & security notices always stay on to keep you safe and informed — that row is shown with a lock and cannot be unticked.
Everyday updates are yours to control. If you feel flooded, turn off the events you do not need and keep the ones that matter.
